Northumberland – How I love you!
I’m a beach kind of girl. Most weekends you’ll find me on the dunes, or walking the sand of one our Northumberland’s amazing beaches. I am lucky enough to call Northumberland my home, it adopted me after returning from a ten year stint in the Loire Valley in France. I can’t image being anywhere else and the coast is it’s main attraction.
So the chance to put together a styled shoot with colleague, friend and amazing photographer, Catherine Kerr of EyeCapture Photography was not one to be missed. We are both lovers of the coast, Catherine being Greek, and myself having grown up amoungst the Cockle Sheds in Essex. The sea always beckons me back. Catherine, I now realise is a collector manic, and it seemed had an attic full of beachy trinkets to style our shoot!
A beach shoot in Northumberland would not be complete without the iconic backdrop of Bamburgh castle, so choosing our location was not difficult. Choosing the weather was in the luck of the gods. We set a date and crossed our fingers.
I used my connections within the Northumberland tourism loop to be put in touch with Celia and Budle Hall near Bamburgh to base our shoot. Her home and warm welcome made the day. The gardens were a wild delight and actually I could spent all day there just sitting amongst the flowers looking over Budle Bay. However with time and tide doing it’s thing, we heading to the beach……
With enormous thanks and gratitude to…..
