Joe and Allie
From the moment I met Joe and Allie I knew that this was a couple that were incredible dynamic, but at the same time very humble about the impact they made on their friends and families lives. The speeches at the reception at Wylam Institute were an absolute testament to them. I cried. They cried. Everyone cried. But it was all with joy at how lives had been touched by their humility, humour and energy.
They married at Hexham House registry Office, which has been beautifully restored, and then went onwards to Wylam for their reception. But here was the secret…. they actually got married in Columbia, to secure a work visa for Joe while Allie was researching for her PhD there. However there was always a doubt in their minds as to whether the marriage would be recognised in the UK, and they wanted to celebrate with their friends, so what better excuse than to do it all again!
Allie and Joe, have an keen sense of environmental ethics, and their choices for attire and details reflected this. Flowers grown locally at Northumbrian Flowers, and arranged by The Good Natured, and Allie chose her dress from the preloved vintage selection at Vintage at Number 18 in Newcastle.
You can’t beat a ceilidh for a wedding festival!
