It's been a while dear blog......
An outing in April organised by one of my amazing colleagues, Nicola Dixon Photography, had me gadding about the Nidderdale countryside, just north of Harrogate. This styled shoot was not one to miss as it featured a gorgeous orangerie on the Braisty Estate. I have been wanting to give a greenhouse shoot a try to experiment with the challenging bright light conditions, and not least because one of my local venues, The Winter Gardens In Hexham, is of course a large orangerie.
Braisty Estate is a family run concern. So typically English in style, and so very Yorkshire in welcome. They host weddings in the grounds of their stone farmhouse, dripping deliciously with charm, and surrounded by beautifully tended parterre gardens and its drop dead gorgeous greenhouse. Its frame and glass is so characterful, from the years of weathering, and inside its charming foliage is down to the tender gardening care of its owner.
Pixie Lindsey of LW Events helped Nicola supervise the styling, and in addition provided welcome tea and melting digestives. Surprisingly, it was fantastically sunny, wonderful for a dry day out, but super bright in terms of shooting.
The day was beautiful. We all got a bit sunburnt, but the beauty of Nicola's taste and styling was the star attraction. With dresses by Kate Beaumont and boho designer Francis Bridal, MUA from the gorgeous April, flowers by the amazing Lucy MacNicoll the cake crafted by Confetti Cakery.
