Northumberland Sunrise Session on the Beach
I actually didn’t think Fran and Dom would take me seriously when I suggested a sunrise shoot on the beach. But was delighted we were on the same page understanding the potential of quality of the light at dawn, if there were no clouds!
As I drove up the A1 in the pitch black of 5am, fog and sea fret swirled around the car and the fields. It was atmospheric, but was hoping it would lift so that we would be bathed in golden autumnal morning light. Even when we arrived simultaneously at the our pre-arranged point I was not hopeful that the fret would lift.
Optimistically we headed over the huge sand dunes towards the sea. Max my pointer charged up and down the dunes like a dog possessed while Fran’s dog just plonked himself in the nearest bit of dirty water he could find! Both typical to their breed.
Watching the Sunrise at the Beach
Just as the sun rose above the sea, the fret completely disappeared, giving us the most amazing colours as the light detracted onto the horizon.
Coast and Castles
Northumberland is blessed with wide, usually deserted sandy beaches and a fair few castles. It is pretty special when they are both in the same place, reminding us that the Vikings were just a long boat away.
My kind of couples
Embrace adventure, spontaneous, brave, chatty and authentic. And that why it was so amazing to meet Fran and Dominic before their wedding day in 2021. Without warning, they kicked off their shoes and made a dash towards the sea followed by the dogs! I love it when people can feel so free to do things like this.
Pushing Boundaries and Creating Art
I do love engagement and couples shoots. No timeline or guests to think about and the freedom to create images that you want to have for your gallery wall.
