Elope to Glencoe

Elope to Glencoe

“Let’s ELOPE TO GLENCOE” she said.

Northumbrian Couple, Lauren and Jordan had been thinking of finally getting married for a while. But with 4 children, they felt a wedding day with friends and family would actually be really stressful.

So they put it off… and put it off.

Then one grizzly rainy morning, after dropping the children at school & nursery they switched on the radio and listened to a story about a couple who eloped to Scotland. Instantly hooked, Lauren immediately searched Google for “Elope to Glencoe”, and UNFURL PHOTOGRAPHY was top of the search. With just one click through they were sold. Eloping solved all their nappy changing dilemmas on a wedding day. It would be just the two of them.

The photos are absolutely stunning.

“Where to start!? After a long engagement, my husband and I were in the car one morning when we heard a story on the radio about a mountainside elopement and thought, we want that! The universe (and a quick Google search) brought us to Gill’s blog and we were instantly sold. Gill has been ever so helpful, friendly and professional in guiding us through the process of planning our elopement, finding the most amazing location, suppliers and celebrant. In the months leading up to our big day, we had regular contact, reminders and a pre-wedding photo shoot to get to know Gill and to get comfortable with being Infront of the camera which I think really made a difference.

“Our wedding day was truly magical. It was everything we wanted it to be and more and it was captured beautifully. Gill really understood what we wanted out of the day and we felt we had not only a witness and photographer, but a friend along for the journey with us. The photos are absolutely stunning. It was so lovely to re-live the day when our gallery was delivered, and I can’t wait to have them printed. I cannot recommend an Unfurl photography elopement enough. Book now!”

Jordan and Lauren’s Pre Wedding Shoot in Northumberland

We’re nervous about our photography. Can we meet up and practise?

It was so serendipitous that both Lauren and Jordan lived pretty locally to me, so we were able to have a pre-wedding shoot, and start to build our relationship of trust for photography, and for planning their elopement.

We met at sunrise on the coldest day of the year. There was ice all over the paths and pitch black darkness. But Lauren and Jordan wanted to do things that they may not do with their four young children, so we slipped and slided down the paths to the lookout on the cliffs.

The Elopement.

The Season: Spring || The Location: The Highlands

Jordan and Lauren chose to lux out on their elopement as it was precious alone time from their busy family life. Heading to the Highlands for the weekend before their elopement day allowed them to collect their marriage schedule from Fort William, and settle in and recharge before their ceremony day. All the planning was done for them as they chose an all inclusive package so they didn’t have a thing to worry about or organise.
