Confetti

Not all CONFETTI is born equal.

Having shot so many confetti scenes, I’d love to give you the lowdown on how to get a banging confetti shot. It’s not all down to the photographer, but the confetti you choose!

OH MY GOD

THE CONFETTI SHOTS.

Rules to Confetti By

1

BIODEGRADABLE

Goes without saying. Avoid ANYTHING with plastic in and apply the LEAVE NO TRACE principle.

2

FLOATS

Choose confetti that will FLOAT AND FLUTTER. Small dried petals drop REALLY quickly, so go for something larger and lighter, like biodegradable tissue discs or hearts.

3

SIZE

SMALL BITS WILL GET STUCK in your veil, hair, and dress. You don’t want to spend precious minutes fishing out lavendar seeds from your tresses (which you have spent ages sorting) before your family photos.

4

COLOUR AND CONTRAST

You want to see your confetti, so GO BOLD. It’s a joyous moment and you want to feel magical too.

5

NUMBERS

You want a fair bit of confetti, so if you don’t have lots of guests to get the stuff in the air, why not have a couple of CONFETTI CANONS to max out the moment?

6

PLENTIFUL

Buy buckets of the stuff! And if you have left over confetti they can be used to bring to live other moments during the day, such as your cake your cake cutting or team bride photographs.

NO CONFETTI

No-fetti Moments.

Confetti Alternatives

Not all Venues allow confetti, but that doesn’t mean your experience should be less.

You can still have your confetti exit that you have always wanted so you can feel that joy, and relive the feeling with the photography.

01.

Streamers

RIBBONS ON STICKS

make for a pretty cool ceremony exit, and they can be used again and again. In factwhenever you are feeling like a gymnast.

02.

Bubbles

HUFF AND PUFF

.The ultimate leave no trace alternative. Get a bubble machine or bubble gun to save your guests from running out of puff and to create enough bubble for impact.
